AVC EDGE

The AVC Edge from Sequoia Voting Systems is reliable and proven touch screen technology.

Introduced to the market in 1999, the Edge touch screen voting machines are freestanding units that allow voters to select their choices electronically, much like an ATM. Accurate, reliable, secure and auditable, the Edge has a long history of success throughout the country.

The Edge features a touch screen for the voter interface and comes in a self-contained portable case. It can be placed on a tabletop or assembled as a stand with its integrated legs. Voters select their choices by touching target areas on an electronically generated ballot. Cast votes are stored in multiple locations in each voting machine to guarantee accuracy and ensure that there are numerous ways to retrieve and audit records.

The Edge, like all Sequoia electronic voting technology, is wheelchair accessible and able to be used by voters with physical, vision and literacy challenges. The Edge accommodates sip and puff devices, neck loops and other dual switch devices to let voters with physical challenges easily navigate the ballot privately and independently.

Ballots and instructions can also be displayed using a wide selection of fonts and languages for flexibility in ballot design.

Sequoia pioneered the use of Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) technology in the United States with the Edge touch screen and its VeriVote VVPAT component. VVPAT was first used in live elections in November 2004 throughout the State of Nevada and has been implemented by other jurisdictions throughout the nation ever since.
